The hospital flip is an exciting and advanced trick that combines elements of a heelflip and a 360 shove-it, creating a unique and dynamic motion. Mastering the hospital flip will not only impress others but also enhance your overall skateboarding skills. Here’s how to do it:
Foot Positioning: Start rolling at a moderate speed. Place your back foot on the tail, similar to a shove-it, and position your front foot across the board, angled slightly towards the nose.
Crouch Down: Bend your knees to prepare for the jump. Keep your weight centered over the board to maintain balance during the trick.
Pop and Scoop: As you jump, pop the tail of the board down with your back foot while simultaneously scooping it in the direction you want the board to spin. This initiates the 360-degree rotation.
Drag and Flick: As the board starts to rise, drag your front foot up towards the nose. Instead of flicking off the side, use your heel to push down and out, generating the flip motion.
Watch the Board: Keep your eyes on the board as it flips and spins. This helps you time your landing and stay focused.
Land and Roll Away: As the board completes its flip and rotation, catch it with your feet. Land with your knees bent to absorb the impact, aiming to land over the bolts for stability.
